West won the toss and put South into bat on a cold showery day. The wicket had been covered so it was only damp as opposed to soaked! South lost their 1^st wicket on 20, with Toby Codd and Toby Lovell then taking the score onto 60 before Lovell was run out by Dan Hussey for 24. Toby Codd then batted maturely with the rest of the team to keep the scoreboard ticking over during various rain breaks. Toby was eventually out for 50 with the score on 129. A flourish between Seb Born and Tom Edgington saw South post 155-7 in the rain reduced 40 overs. Matt Singh’s off spin and Dan Goodey’s seam bowling took two wickets each backed up by two run outs by Hussey and Harry Dunlop as the West stuck to the task in co0ld and blustery conditions.

In reply the West got off to the worst start with Dan Hussey out for 0 3^rd ball of the innings soon followed by Harry Williams for 1 to leave the West 5 for 2. Charlie Barriball (14) and Matt Borbon (8) took the score to 35 before they were both dismissed in the 17^th over. The lower order then all chipped in with Dan Goodey (21) and Sam Skelton (26no) the principal scorers. However the poor start to the innings left the West too much to do in the second half of their innings to overhaul the South score. The South bowled and fielded well in the now arctic conditions well marshalled by skipper Toby Codd with Toby Blundell the pick of the bowlers with 3-18 off 8 overs including two wickets in two balls.
